Genova hosts one of the most active commercial docks in Europe, but its alleys are now populated by the largest south american community in Italy and maybe Europe, but also by asians, arabs, africans, taking the place that was once occupied by families of fishermen.
Walking through those alleys can be a frustrating, an exciting, or even a dangerous experience.
But those old buildings seem to remind you why it used to be called “La Superba”, long time ago…

say hello to fall, say goodbye to summer, let the beaches go desert again, let the sea belong to its creatures again, no more crowds, traffic lines, loud music and picnics on the beach…

North of Bretagne is dominated by its spectacular and inexpugnable Mont St Michel, the only part of France which was still not occupied by the english army during a phase of the 100 Years War with England; only when you arrive at its feet, you understand why…

Lisboa deserves color… although some 400 Neopan pushed a bit far (22C°, 6.5 mins in D76) can produce some pleasant contrast

I must dedicate a special post to this roll of film, although it’s still related to my last weekend on the beatiful boat of my friend Claudio…
The poor light conditions I was finding around the streets of the beatiful town of Trieste late in the afternoon was in fact the chance that allowed me to experience what pushing an Ilford Delta 100 might mean, since this roll is of a new generation kind, featuring fine tabular grain that, on the other end, is not too keen about pushing. I didn’t know this when I couldn’t find any time indication for development at 400 using my normal developer, Ilfosol 3…
What happened? Well, as usual I must thank my dear friend Domenico Pescosolido for allowing me to develop this roll: he managed to find the right developer and the right development time. The secret recipe? The old Kodak D76 at 20° for 13 minutes, agitation every minute! Let’s keep this info for the future!

Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum The sun is out and I want some. Its not hard, not far to reach We can hitch a ride To rockaway beach. Up on the roof, out on the street Down in the playground the hot concrete Bus ride is too slow They blast out the disco on the radio Rock rock rockaway beach Rock rock rockaway beach We can hitch a ride To rockaway beach Its not hard, not far to reach We can hitch a ride To rockaway beach.
